Ethical Hacker
At a glance
As an Ethical Hacker for security testing you are responsible for guiding and coaching a small team. Together with the team, you will work on improving the collaboration, quality, efficiency and productivity of our team. You are an important ambassador and advocate of our products. You are able to emphasize the mutual interests and benefits to your stakeholders.
As Ethical Hacker you are involved in the coordinating and execution of various security testing activities like pentesting, red teaming, continuous attacker mode and coordinated vulnerability disclosure and subsequent risk assessments on system assets of ABN AMRO.
Your knowledge and experience will contribute to improving the overall security posture of the bank by helping development teams to bring security by design in their day-to-day work and by ensuring compliance with applicable ABN AMRO policies, procedures, and regulations. Your job
You are responsible for the coordinating and execution of various security testing activities like pentesting, red teaming, continuous attacker mode and coordinated vulnerability disclosure on ABN AMRO’s information assets. You identify gaps, report them and advise about ways to fix them. As an expert you stay well informed on the latest developments and you actively share this knowledge with your colleagues. You signal improvements related to the way of working and you contribute to improving the maturity and coverage of our service offering.
Working environment
You will be part of the internal Security Assurance team within the Corporate Information Security Office (CISO) of ABN AMRO in the Netherlands. Inside the team we work together in an informal way and we provide a lot of variety and opportunities to keep developing yourself. ABN AMRO is moving to an agile way of working where speed, productivity, agility and innovative power come first. For you as a Security Expert, this means an interactive and inspiring way of working together across the team and with different departments of the bank.

Your profile
Required hard skills:
- You have more than approximately 3+ years of relevant work experience in the security testing domain.
- You possess at least one relevant certification like OSCP, OSCE, GPEN, GXPN etc.
- You have knowledge and/or experience with adversary techniques, tactics, and procedures.
- You have in depth experience with complex Mac, Linux and Windows environments.
- You have in depth experience with complex network architectures.
Required soft skills:
- You have the ability to translate technical risks into business risks and vice versa.
- You take ownership of your own and team's delivery and have a proactive attitude.
- You are pragmatic and analytical and have good communication and social skills.
- You are energetic and like to work in an Agile environment.
- You are fluent (verbal and in writing) in English.
- Willingness to learn and experiment.
Nice-to-have skills:
- You have knowledge and/or experience in performing threat and/or risk assessments.
- Exposure to banking, or equivalent highly controlled technology environment
- Experience with AI / Machine Learning.
- You are fluent (verbal and in writing) in Dutch.
