At a glance
Can you help shape and build a new team and new capability within ABN AMRO ? Do you thrive on delivering high quality (connectivity) services to consumers that needs to be 24x7 available ? If yes, then this vacancy is for you.
Connectivity services are a vital part of the ABN AMRO infrastructure, without it our customers can not enjoy banking services, users can not work and applications can not send and/or receive data. It is crucial that these Connectivity services are available 24x7 and the “Network Operations Center” (NOC) ensures that they are. This NOC function has been performed by our managed service partner, but we are now transferring it to ABN AMRO and making it fit even better to ABN AMRO need as part of our journey to become an Internal Service Provider.
Your job
The Network Foundation Enablement team will develop, maintain and run the NOC services and as Product Owner Network Foundation Enablement together with the IT Lead you set the directions and priorities for the NOC functions (technology) and the Network Foundation team (people).
The NOC will focus on end2end connectivity services and needs to be integrated in the Control Tower of ABN AMRO that is guarding all IT infra services. The NOC functions and/or tools needs to be “built from scratch” and will require leveraging what is already their from the managed services and available within ABN AMRO at other IT infra departments. Great internal stakeholder management and collaboration with other IT Infra departments is paramount.
ABN AMRO is using the scaled Agile framework to align between departments. However dealing with the managed service partner and operational tasks & controls on the other hand will require balancing whatever work methodology is needed for each given activity/ situation. You will need to be flexible to bridge activities between Agile, Kanban, and projects and bring it together to build and maintain the NOC functions.
As the Product Owner Network Foundation Enablement you have (enough) knowledge on Network Management technologies e.g. Cisco Catalyst Center, Palo Alto Panorama and reporting tools to understand where this can bring value for ABN AMRO. The in-depth knowledge of these topics is in your DevOps team, in order you can focus on getting the backlog done and aligned with security restrictions.
Working environment
Network Foundation Enablement is part of “Network Foundation” that together with “Network Engineering” build up the PIP Networks & Datacenter department.
Where Foundation will focus mainly on Operations and Service Management. The Engineering focus area will focus on driving technology roadmaps. Both focus areas will work closely together to achieve the Network & Datacenter vison & mission. The PIP Networks & Datacenter department is part of the Platform & Technology business unit. P&T runs a standardized IT-landscape supporting all thousands of business applications. Key is flexibility to adopt new technology like cloud and support DevOps.
