Operational Risk Manager
Your job
The Operational Risk Manager is responsible safeguarding the Clearing organisation for operational risks, including information security and business continuity risks. In your job, you challenge the Clearing organisation on their maturity of controls and risk mitigating actions. You support the organisation with your vision towards operational risk management and your pro-active alignment to keep Clearings’ process and IT infrastructure safe and available for operation. In the context of operational risk, you, together with the team, take care of risk plans, risk analyses, risk opinions on incidents and changes, control testing, risk tooling, training and evaluation. Initiates and manages operational and awareness programs.
The risk management function in London reports into the Clearing I&ORM team. You will be closely working together with the I&ORM teams situated in Amsterdam for the execution of Information and operating risk management for the offices Amsterdam, London, Brazil and Frankfurt. Next to that this team has an coordinating ‘Global’ function towards the regions US and APAC.
The Operation Risk manager is within AAC I&ORM responsible for the 2nd line risk management of AAB Clearing. Whereby the risk manager pro-actively challenges and support management of Clearing to identify, mitigate and control key operational risks. By ensuring the implementation and maintenance of a risk based control framework. Performing risk analysis, give risk opinions in the different risk committees and performing testing activities to ensure effectiveness of the control framework. Performing Change risk assessment. Challenge the (IT) Clearing organisation to facilitate continues improvement of the control activities. Reporting in operational-, information security- and business continuity risk status to management and other stakeholders like internal and external auditors and regulators. Act as the SME Operational risk management in the blocs of the Agile in the Clearing organisation.
Working environment
ABN AMRO Clearing is designated as a specialized business within ABN AMRO and holds its own banking license (ABN AMRO Clearing Bank NV). Globally the company consists of about 1,000 FTE and is largely self-sufficient, organizing its own supporting organization. ABN AMRO Clearing plays an important infrastructural role in the financial markets. As such it is closely monitored by Regulators and Central Banks. This is augmented by the fact that ABN AMRO Clearing holds significant market shares in financial markets across the globe holding top spots in clearing on numerous exchanges in every region.
According the AAB 3 Lines of Defence model, AAC Risk constitutes the 2nd Line of Defence for Information & Operational Risk. ABN AMRO Clearing I&ORM has a global focus and substituted by a regional present in the regions Europe (Amsterdam, London, Brazil, Frankfurt), USA (Chicago, New York) and Asia-Pacific (Sydney, Singapore, Hong Kong, Tokyo)
Your profile
You are a risk specialist with extensive operational risk expertise, with a good understanding of information security and strong soft skills. You have a strong vision, are pro-active in taking initiatives. You are risk aware, and have a good talent in stakeholder management, without are not shy in showing backbone
• Bachelor - Academic level
• 8 year experience
• Experience with operational risk instruments
• Basic knowledge of BCM and Information Security standards and regulations (NIST FS, ISO 27 001/2, ISF Standards of Good Practice, GDPR)
• Team player in a multicultural environment (we use English to communicate)
• Knowledge of process design & process management
• Knowledge of Business and IT architecture
• Affinity of the relevant laws and regulations

We are offering
- The gross monthly salary displayed above is based on a 36-hour work week, including vacation pay and benefit budget.
- The Benefit Budget is 11% of your salary. The Benefit Budget allows you to acquire additional employment benefits. If you make no purchases or reservations in the Benefit Shop in a given month, you are paid one twelfth of your Benefit Budget that month.
- Five weeks of vacation per year. You have the option to purchase an additional four weeks per year.
