We are looking for a senior Azure DevOps engineer with broad understanding of core Azure Technologies: IaaS and PaaS services, networking, policy and governance, security controls, etc. You will be joining a platform team that develops Azure Services for consumption by other teams within the company. This role combines architecture with engineering. As a senior engineer you are able to guide and help the team with both short-term and long-term goals.  

Your job

We are looking for a senior Azure DevOps Engineer with broad knowledge of and passion for Microsoft Azure. The candidate must be able to understand business requirements and translate them to development requirements. As a developer in a DevOps Teams you will be contributing or leading the design and development considering security and compliance requirements and ensure the compatibility with the platform(functions). The capabilities we develop are to enable Business DevOps Teams including our internal Azure customers (400+ DevOps teams) and enabling them to consume Azure services as self-service in a secure and compliant way.

Working environment

The Public Cloud Grid is the owner of the Financial Services Cloud Platform (FSCP) and is considered an Internal Service Provider (ISP). It is a relatively young department within the Platforms & Technology (P&T) unit that successfully drives the development of this strategic and highly automated Azure based cloud platform, one of the largest deployments within Europe. 

 

We are implementing Azure Cloud Services as a strategic platform in a DevOps and Agile way of working. The candidate will become part of an Azure Platform DevOps organisation, responsible for the design, development, operations and support of Azure platform products, solutions, functions, resources & capabilities. Together with an enthusiastic team of Azure Specialists you will take end-to-end responsible for the Products and Solutions developed and owned by this Azure Product DevOps team. This Azure Product DevOps team is part of a larger organisation with 10+ other Azure DevOps Teams working closely together to deliver value to the consumers/ business DevOps teams. 

Your profile

We are looking for a colleague that meets the following profile:

  • Microsoft Azure certified Solution Architect. 
  • Proven experience with using and developing Azure Services in a senior role.  
  • Strong security awareness; CCSP or other relevant certifications are recommended. 
  • Good experience with design and deployment of ARM templates, JSON and PowerShell. 
  • Knowledge and experience with YAML pipelines. C# is a nice to have. 
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD. 
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Azure service portfolio and latest developments. 
  • Can act as a sparring partner for the development community and other cloud (DevOps) teams. 
  • Service oriented with a growth mind-set. 

 

Moreover you are a team player who can work effectively with others, not only in their immediate team but cross-functional teams as well. You should foster an environment of trust and respect. You are able to explain technical concepts to non-technical team members, stakeholders, and customers. Available for at least 36 hours per week.

  • The gross monthly salary displayed above is based on a 36-hour work week, including vacation pay and benefit budget.
  • The Benefit Budget is 11% of your salary. The Benefit Budget allows you to acquire additional employment benefits. If you make no purchases or reservations in the Benefit Shop in a given month, you are paid one twelfth of your Benefit Budget that month.
  • Five weeks of vacation per year. You have the option to purchase an additional four weeks per year.
  • Personal development Budget of € 1,000 per year, which you can accumulate up to € 3,000.
  • Possibility to work from home (in consultation with your team and depending on your position).
  • An annual public transport pass with free public transportation throughout the Netherlands.
  • An excellent pension scheme.
