Definition of Default Coordinator

At a glance

The Definition of Default (DoD) is central to credit risk management. It forms the foundation of IRB models and processes, as well as credit risk origination and monitoring. Consequently, a wide range of departments, stakeholders, and processes contribute to maintaining a compliant DoD framework.

In this role, you will join the Definition of Default (DoD) Center, a team with overarching responsibility for managing the compliant DoD Framework. This team is part of the Credit Risk Change and Control department. As a member of the DoD Center, you will support the team in coordinating and facilitating key activities, while also utilising your expertise on selected subjects. You will work closely with your immediate colleagues but also stakeholders per selected topic.

Are you eager to develop expertise in the DoD subject at the bank? Do you enjoy organizing and managing initiatives and related workflows involving multiple stakeholders? If so, this job might be your perfect next career move!

Your job

You will be actively involved in all activities that the DoD Center is responsible for. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Contribute to maintaining and updating the DoD Governance Framework.
  • Assist in current and future change processes impacting DoD, including the material change approval request process to the supervisor.
  • Maintain and update the DoD Registry and documentation; organize the documentation library to ensure all relevant policy and implementation documents are easily accessible.
  • Shape and streamline the DoD Center workflows and processes, enhancing efficiency and effectiveness. This will also include organizing stakeholder sessions and reviews for selected topics, handling requests for advice from business units, and communicating with stakeholders.
  • Support the team in tracking and closing regulatory or internal findings related to DoD.
  • Participate in selected projects that impact DoD.
  • You will collaborate closely with the DoD Center Lead and your colleagues on all the aforementioned topics.
  • You will continuously advance your understanding of the subject matter, becoming a valuable advisor for your peers both within and outside the DoD Center.

Working environment

You will work within the Change & Control department of Credit Risk. The team consists of 27 professionals who collectively have an overview of all relevant aspects of credit risk management and bring a wealth of experience in project management, change management, and consulting. The team has deep insight into the inner workings of the bank as a whole.

The DoD Center is part of the Change & Control Department, currently consisting of three colleagues, with further expansion anticipated in the near future.

Within Credit Risk, professionals have opportunities to grow and develop both in breadth and depth. Different views are valued and respected, and providing new and innovative perspectives is encouraged.
The atmosphere is open and informal, and we are always willing to help each other.

Your profile

  • Work experience – you work and reason at a university level and have more than 5 years’ relevant experience in the financial sector and specifically credit risk. You have been involved in credit risk regulatory projects in the past and are eager to learn and grow your expertise further in DoD regulations and their implementation. You enjoy organizing work and leveraging workflow automation tools.
  • Content knowledge & experience – you have worked on regulatory projects and deliverables in the credit risk domain. You are familiar with the EU regulatory landscape and banking processes.
  • Project/Process management skills – you utilize your project and process management skills for planning, stakeholder alignment, progress monitoring, and regular communication. You are eager to leverage technology for workflow automation and efficiency improvements (e.g., SharePoint, PowerApps, Power BI, Power Automate, Microsoft Teams Planner, and Microsoft Lists).
  • Communication skills – written and verbal communication skills, able to clearly convey information and collaborate effectively with stakeholders. Fluent in English.
