ABN AMRO is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer (MLE) to join the Credits Grid, Data Science Center of Excellence. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about working at the cutting edge of financial services technology, developing a central Machine Learning (ML) solution to meet evolving business needs. The candidate will work closely with Data scientists, Data & Devops engineers and is expected to have a robust set of technical skills in machine learning, system design, and coding, combined with strong business support.

Your job

As part of credits CoE team, you will be working with Data Scientists in order to develop AI solutions and onboard multiple use cases across Credits Grid. Your main goal is to enable MLOps capabilities and productionalize AI use cases developed by data scientists on the Data Science Production Environment.

Your responsibilities:

• Participate in the ideation and design of AI use cases with Data Scientists;
• Productionalize code developed by Data scientists. This includes unit testing, best coding practices and developing testing frameworks;
• Use the AI capabilities offered by the bank, for e.g. OpenAI models and use necessary AI techniques for e.g. Retrieval Augmented Generation.
• Do performance improvement and monitoring of solutions on the DSPE;
• Onboard new Data Science use cases on the DSPE;
• Development of CI/CD templates and standardized frameworks;
• Create guidelines and process for Data Science teams to use MLOps capabilities;
• Mentor junior ML Engineers and set direction for best practices.

Your profile

You must have the following knowledge and experience:

• 5+ years of experience with Python, Spark, Git, Azure Devops;
• 5+ years of experience with Azure Cloud, specifically Machine Learning Cloud solutions, such Azure ML or Databricks;
• 5+ years of experience in building machine learning based solutions, applicants are expected to have some practical experience;
• Experience with unit testing and any other kind of testing;
• Any experience with OpenAI models and are familiar with RAG, embedding models, chunking etc.
• Fluent in English.

The following soft skills are required:

• You are able to communicate effectively with technical and business counterparts;
• You are a team player that requires minimal steering to be productive;
• You are up to date on the latest developments within ML and can guide others in finding optimal solutions;

It would be nice if you have the following background or experience as well:

• At least a Bsc background with a degree in Technology, Engineering or Mathematics;
• Experience with Azure Document Intelligence.

We are offering

• The gross monthly salary displayed above is based on a 36-hour work week, including vacation pay and benefit budget. 
• The Benefit Budget is 11% of your salary. The Benefit Budget allows you to acquire additional employment benefits. If you make no purchases or reservations in the Benefit Shop in a given month, you are paid one twelfth of your Benefit Budget that month. 
• Five weeks of vacation per year. You have the option to purchase an additional four weeks per year.
