Your job

As hands-on Finance Professional you work on deliveries in change programs where Accounting is involved in (e.g. SREP, BCBS239, Compass) representing the BaU Accounting. You will develop a good understanding of the activities of BaU Accounting and you will work closely with people in primarily the Accounting grid. Besides Accounting and the Accounting grid you will work with Reporting, Business Departments and the broader F&R Business grids. In this role you will contribute to amongst others a more granular control framework, improved data lineage and solid choices in the rapidly changing accounting landscape. You report to the Expert Lead Accounting.

Working environment

You are part of the Accounting department, within Financial Accounting. The Accounting department consists of approximately 100 people and four teams: Clients & Group Functions Accounting, Markets/ALM Accounting, Sourcing, Purchase to Pay and with a strong link to the Finance & Risk Business grid. We are responsible for the correct, complete and timely recording of all ABN AMRO entities in the Netherlands, with the exception of independently reporting entities. We ensure timely monthly and annual closings, complete and qualitative balance sheet files and monthly reports (including regulatory reporting, Basel), coordinated with the stakeholders and (external) accountant. You will be part of a new team.

Your profile

In this changing environment, we are looking for someone with knowledge of and experience in practical application of accounting and reporting processes and change management.  We are looking for an enthusiastic colleague who is not afraid to ask questions and to be proactive within the organization. Check your profile:

  • You have a Bachelor or Master degree in business economics/accounting
  • At least 4 years of relevant work experience, preferably within financial services and/or consultancy
  • Understanding of business processes including knowledge of the technical processes
  • Pragmatic, hands-on and proactive; you make things simple and practical
  • Strong communicatory, ambitious and eager to learn
  • Result-oriented and problem-solving
  • You are social, collaborative, curious and innovative
