IT Contract Manager

Banks have a pivotal role in society. To support servicing our customers we ensure that we develop or buy the best software there is. When buying software, we need contracts. That is where you come in. Contract Management is an area that increasingly gets more focus and priority within the bank. Regulatory changes, new tools and new processes and a range of stakeholders make it a fun, varied, and challenging role.

Linda Tonkes of CATS CM (expert in contract management) describes the recent developments in contract management as follows:

"There are more and more contracts and the pace at which the world is changing will not slow down. Also, unexpected things will continue to happen. The profession of contract management will therefore increasingly intertwine with primary processes and will then be fully recognized. With this development, the course will require other (soft) skills that will form a larger part of the course. It will make the job of contract manager more interesting and fun. New techniques such as AI and robotisation will certainly contribute to this. From the registration of what is in the contract, it goes to what impact this contract has on the strategic objectives. And, of course, the speed with which you have insight into this as an organization.”

Your job

The CIO Contract Management team manages the 200 most important IT software contracts within the bank's CIO organizations. We focus on the execution phase of the contract and manage risk, costs and performance. As a contract manager, you are responsible for the contract management of approximately 40 contracts. Your work will include:

  • Getting more value out of contracts, by helping contract owners interpret contractual texts and ensuring suppliers stick to the agreements.
  • Analyze contracts to advice on improvements during a renewal or sourcing phase. For this you use our team’s checklist, and add from your own experience where possible.
  • Perform predefined risk controls in a tool, where you assess input such as data or policy documents to determine if a risk control is effective. If not, you raise an issue and help the contract owner to resolve this.
  • Plan and prepare for supplier meetings, and make meeting minutes.
  • Within the team you discuss developments, work on process improvements and share knowledge.
  • Maintain the contract dossier and meta data in several tools in cooperation with the contract owner and procurement consultant.

Working environment

Within the CIO Office, the CIO CM team consists of five colleagues between the ages of 27 and 38 with diverse backgrounds. In our team meetings we speak English. We work hybrid, meaning we meet as a team at least once per week. There, we also find most of our internal stakeholders. Suppliers are mainly foreign, with whom we hold video conferences.

Your profile

Are you that connecting professional who can keep an overview, is careful and can communicate clearly? Do you enjoy interacting with various stakeholders and helping them? Then we are looking for you! Check your profile:

  • >1 year work experience within IT, compliance, risk or contract context.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in business administration or ICT.
  • Affinity with IT, contract management, data and risk.
  • You are independent, pragmatic, accurate and strive for improvement.
  • Dare to respectfully address stakeholder’s responsibilities.
  • Proficient in the English language, both in writing and speech, and you are situated in the Netherlands.
  • Pré: Dutch language.
  • Pré: CATS CM Foundation.

We are offering

Working in a collaborative and fun team in a dynamic context with several stakeholders. Your Hay Grade will be 9, which has a salary range, and scaling will be based on your knowledge and experience. Next to that, we offer the following:

  • The gross monthly salary displayed above is based on a 36-hour work week, including vacation pay and benefit budget.
  • The Benefit Budget is 11% of your salary. The Benefit Budget allows you to acquire additional employment benefits. If you make no purchases or reservations in the Benefit Shop in a given month, you are paid one twelfth of your Benefit Budget that month.
  • Five weeks of vacation per year. You have the option to purchase an additional four weeks per year.
  • Personal development Budget of € 1,000 per year, which you can accumulate up to € 3,000.
  • Possibility to work from home (in consultation with your team and depending on your position).
  • An annual public transport pass with free public transportation throughout the Netherlands.
  • An excellent pension scheme.
