Your job
You are continuously working on strategizing, designing, developing and implementing our product offerings driven by fact based (customer) insights.
What you will do:
Apply your commercial mindset and product skills to drive growth
Be part of vision and strategy development for the product franchise
Drive performance dialogues on product performance and customer satisfaction based on data
Visualize customer journeys and processes, determine improvement areas
Lead initiatives from idea to working products / features, including IT delivery
Keep our products and processes compliant to regulations, (non-financial) risk management and market standards
Working environment
We work within the Transaction Services grid which is part of the Transaction Banking product unit. The ambition of Transaction Services is to improve the transaction experience, unlock new business models and to reduce manual handling whilst remaining compliant with regulatory and market standards. The Trade Finance franchise is part of the Transaction Services grid. We serve businesses ranging from Small & Medium Enterprises up to Corporate & Institutional Clients.
We do this by offering products that fall under the umbrella term Trade Finance: Letters of Credit, Guarantees / Standby Letter of Credit, and Collections. Banks and companies use these products to enable and facilitate international trade transactions. Our products help customers to secure i) delivery of goods/services, ii) getting paid iii) an optimized working capital position. Due to the nature of the Trade Finance products, there is a relation to many aspects of banking in general, amongst other payments, financing and compliance.
Within the Trade Finance franchise, you will be part of the Value Proposition Block. Your team consists of colleagues (including you). Besides your team, there are several Value Delivery Blocks consisting of IT engineers responsible for delivering digital capabilities. We work closely together with colleagues from Sales, Operations, and other departments that provide centralized capabilities. We have a hybrid way of working and can be found in Rotterdam or in our home-office. We are a tight team that like to go out on lunch together, do out-of-office activities, celebrate successes and take care of each other.
Your profile
You are a Trade Finance professional that delivers value as a real go-getter. You have a passion for Trade Finance and would like to become an (even better) expert in the field. You use creativity to overcome challenges and generate new ideas. Growing and owning propositions makes your heartbeat faster. The voice of the customer is your starting point. You are digital savvy and able to work with IT teams towards technology delivery. You are comfortable with challenging the status quo for the sake of digitally transforming our Trade Finance business. You have a growth mindset and enjoy sharing your knowledge and expertise with your team members. You have an analytical approach and believe in data driven decision making. You are able to see the bigger picture and take a long-term view while also being able to adapt quickly to change. You look for opportunities and are not afraid to ask questions.
Check your profile:
- You have 8+ years of relevant work experience in the field of Trade Finance
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in either product management, process management, business analysis, sales (coverage, trade or lending) and/or operations
- High business acumen and commercial growth focus
- Entrepreneurial mindset with excellent stakeholder management skills
- Higher educational background and relevant work experience.

- This position concerns a job for at least 36 hours.
- The gross monthly salary displayed above is based on a 36-hour work week, including vacation pay and benefit budget.
- This includes a Benefit Budget of 11% of your gross salary. You decide what to do with it: you can use it e.g. to buy extra days. If you don’t use the budget, it will be paid out on a monthly basis.
- 5 weeks of annual leave
