Domain Architect

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Domain Architect to join our team. This role is crucial in defining and implementing the technological vision that supports the bank's strategic goals. As a Domain Architect, you will play a key role in ensuring our IT solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with business strategy and objectives. You understand the domain and translate the business vision into technical deliverables, by creating future-proof architectural solutions.

In this role you are responsible for the IT architecture of the Value Cluster Customer Services in Customer Interaction(CI) grid. You will mainly be focussing on creating and enhancing the architecture in the areas of 

Customer On-boarding
Identification and Verification
Managing Customer Data


By enhancing the customer experience in these frontline applications we aim to eliminate friction and provide a delightful experience to our customers. You will be working with other Domain Architects, Enterprise Architects and Lead Domain Architect. Together with your stakeholders, you arrive at the optimal architecture to meet the business demands and priorities. A Domain Architect delivers a Solution Intent through technical expertise, long-term vision, product knowledge and soft skills, which ensures simplification and improvements so that future changes become easier. Domain Architect is therefore focused on long-term thinking and creating a roadmap for the Value Cluster and works towards the Future State Architecture.

Key Responsibilities


Architectural Leadership: Develop and maintain the architecture for a specific business domain, ensuring it aligns with enterprise architecture and IT strategy. You are in conversation with many fields and different functions because you are the pivot for our grid between business and IT. A Domain Architect is the champion for b real connector and you put out clear solution content for your colleagues. It is important in this position to monitor the scope in which work is carried out, the technical implementation and quality of these components.
For example, . Our new Architect oversees and supervises the quality of the architecture and is able to transfer this information to colleagues.

Technical Strategy: Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to translate business requirements into architectural blueprints that are robust, scalable, and secure. You are a sparring partner for the IT Lead, Grid Owner and Lead Product Owner.
Innovation: Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, advising the business on opportunities to improve efficiency, performance, and customer experience. You are a champion for technological advancements happening in your space, and bring the outside-in technological view to always keep a competitive edge and novelty in service offerings. 
Guidance and Mentorship: Provide guidance to software development teams, ensuring that solutions are built in compliance with architectural standards and best practices. The complexity of the position lies in supervising and supporting the DevOps teams, which requires in-depth substantive knowledge of the Grid(s).
Governance and Compliance: Establish and enforce architectural governance, standards, and guidelines. Ensure that solutions are compliant with regulatory requirements and internal policies. You oversee and supervise the quality of the architecture, are aware of architectural deviations (sub-optimal choices made due to constraints) and actively address them at every opportunity possible.
Collaboration: Work closely with other architects, developers, and business analysts to ensure cohesive and integrated solutions across domains.

    Your profile

    Check your profile:

    • Work Experience: 7+ years of relevant work experience, including 3+ years of experience in the field of architecture.
    • Domain Knowledge: Proven experience as a Domain Architect or similar role in a large organisation, preferably within the financial services industry.
    • Architectural Skills: Proficiency in architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF), design patterns, and modelling techniques. Experience with Sparx Enterprise architect, Archimate, UML, REST API standards is nice to have.
    • Technical Expertise: Experience in software development, with strong knowledge of at-least one high level programming language (Java, Python, Typescript, Go etc) is nice to have.

    What We Offer

    • The gross monthly salary displayed above is based on a 36-hour work week, including vacation pay and benefit budget.
    • The Benefit Budget is 11% of your salary. The Benefit Budget allows you to acquire additional employment benefits. If you make no purchases or reservations in the Benefit Shop in a given month, you are paid one twelfth of your Benefit Budget that month.
    • Five weeks of vacation per year. You have the option to purchase an additional four weeks per year.
    • Personal development Budget of € 1,000 per year, which you can accumulate up to € 3,000.
    • Possibility to work from home (in consultation with your team and depending on your position).
    • An annual public transport pass with free public transportation throughout the Netherlands.
